Track your laptop after it’s been jacked – for free

If you have just shelled out for a stack of new laptops which you paid for with donor money and you are determined not to lose track of a single one of them then you might want to consider Adeona.  Adeona is a free laptop tracking app that was developed by a couple of college kids.  You can zero in on the wayward unit after running a trace with the software and if for some strange reason you happened to buy Macs you can even snap pics of the culprit who nabbed it.  Deborah Gage has the full story over at SFGate.com.  Here’s a YouTube interview with the creators:
